Betty Joyce Jones 1926 - 2006
Memorial services for Betty Joyce "B.J." Jones, 79, Lawrence and Arkansas City, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Episcopal Church of Arkansas City. Private committal services will be in Douglass.Mrs. Jones died Monday, Jan. 23, 2006, at Midland Hospice House in Topeka.She was born Sept. 17, 1926, in Wichita, the daughter of Virgil and Mattie Elder Clay. She graduated from Douglass High School in 1944.Mrs. Jones was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Arkansas City. She was a volunteer for the Ladies Hospital Auxiliary and served on the Trinity Episcopal Altar Guild.She married Donald E. Jones on May 27, 1947. He died in 1973.Survivors include two sons, Craig and Clay Jones, both of Lawrence; a sister, Abbie Wiseman; and a granddaughter.The family suggests memorials to the church, Ladies Hospital Auxiliary or Midland Hospice House, sent in care of Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home, 100 E.
