John Child Bowden 1921 - 2006 Hillsboro, Mo.
John Child Bowden, 84, Hillsboro, died Friday, Jan. 13, 2006, in Hillsboro.He was born April 17, 1921, in Bozeman, Mont., the son of Ray B. and Grace Child Bowden. He graduated from Washington University in St. Louis.Mr. Bowden served in the U.S. Army at Iwo Jima and retired as a captain. He worked as an EDP systems manager for Pet Milk Inc. and retired in 1983. He was a member of the Kirkwood Theatre Guild and Kirkwood Barbershop Quartet. He was a past president of the Miniature Carousel Society.He married Loraine Sellers. She died earlier.Survivors include two sons, John R. and Bryan D., both of Lawrence, Kan.; a daughter, Susan B. Scott, Weatherford, Texas; a sister, Gladys Rae Marecek, Kirkwood, Mo.; and three grandchildren. Bopp Chapel in Kirkwood, Mo., is in charge of arrangements.
