Wesley John Bauman

Graveside services for Wesley John Bauman, 82, Ottawa, formerly of Lawrence, will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Highland Cemetery in Ottawa. He will be cremated.Mr. Bauman died Thursday, Jan. 12, 2006, at Ottawa Village Manor Nursing Home.He was born Dec. 7, 1923, in Watertown, Wis., the son of William and Lillie Roth Baumann. He graduated from Watertown High School and Gupton Jones Mortuary College in Nashville, Tenn. He moved to Lawrence in 1983 and to Ottawa in 1999.Mr. Bauman served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II as a surgical technician. He worked and became general manager and vice president of the House of Bultman Mortuary in New Orleans and also owned and operated gift and antique shops in Colorado, California and Arizona. He was the assistant organist for Episcopal Cathedral in New Orleans, an organist and choir director of Christ Church in Aspen, Colo., and also was associated with the Aspen Music Festival organization.Survivors include two brothers, Raymond and Emery Baumann, both of Watertown, Wis.; and friend and business partner, John H.
