O. Paul Sanders 1921 - 2006 Prairie Village
Services for O. Paul Sanders, 84, Lenexa, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Prairie Baptist Church in Prairie Village. Mr. Sanders died Sunday, Jan. 8, 2006, at Lakeview Care Center in Lenexa from Parkinson's disease and congestive heart failure.He was born May 31, 1921, in Oswego, the son of Harlan and May Christy Sanders. He received a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from Kansas State University in 1947 and a master's degree from the University of Missouri in 1960.Mr. Sanders served in the U.S. Navy as an executive officer during World War II and the Korean conflict. He was part of the Martin Logan group in Lawrence and formed Powercom Sales in 1968. He was a member of IEEE, SPEBSQSA, Abdallah Temple and Overland Park Masonic Lodge. He was a choir director for Prairie Baptist Church.He married Earlene Martin. She survives, of the home.Other survivors include three sons, Gayle, Las Vegas, Mark, Lawrence, and Greg, Kansas City, Kan.; and a granddaughter.The family will receive friends following the services at the church.The family suggests memorials to Families for Mental Health, P.O. Box 325, Shawnee Mission 66201.D.W. Newcomer's Sons Overland Park Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
