Marian J Madl

Services for Marian J. Madl, 92, Lawrence, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Annunciation Catholic Church in Baldwin. Burial will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery in Baldwin.Miss Madl died Sunday, Jan. 1, 2006, at Brandon Woods Retirement Community in Lawrence.She was born March 6, 1913, near Baldwin, the daughter of Joseph F. and Barbara P. Hadl Madl. She attended Prospect Rural School and graduated from Baldwin High School in 1932. She lived in the Baldwin area until 1998.She became certified to teach in 1934, and taught for 37 years at schools in Edgerton, Baldwin and Douglas County. She attended Kansas State Teachers College in Emporia and earned a bachelor’s degree in 1969. She retired in 1977 but continued to work during summers in Wyoming.She was a member of Annunciation Catholic Church in Baldwin, and participated in several bowling leagues in Lawrence.Survivors include two brothers, Robert Madl and Alois Joseph Madl, both of Baldwin; and two sisters, Vivian Clark and Barbara Jean Evilsizor, both of Lawrence. A rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. today at Annunciation Catholic Church, after which the family will meet friends until 8:30 p.m.The family suggests memorials to the Annunciation Catholic Church cemetery fund, sent in care of Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home, P.O.
