Dorothy A. Martin 1936 - 2005
aMass of Christian Burial for Dorothy A. "Dottie" Martin, 69, Lawrence, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Burial will be later in Mount Calvary Cemetery.Ms. Martin died Friday, Dec. 30, 2005, at her home.She was born July 1, 1936, in Evanston, Ill., the daughter of Valentine and Eva Beach Reiter. She attended Evanston High School and Evanston Hospital School of Nursing. She moved to Lawrence in 1975 from Centralia, Mo.Mrs. Martin worked as a certified operating room nurse at Lawrence Memorial Hospital for 25 years.She was a member of the church, the Association of Operating Nurses, ladies pilot group the 99's, Kansas Pilots Assn., Aircraft Owners and Pilots Assn., American Yankee Assn. and Bosom Buddies, a breast cancer support group.She married Dick Martin on Dec. 7, 1958, in Wheatridge, Colo. He survives of the home.Other survivors include two sons, Gregory Martin, McKinney, Texas, and Glenn Martin, San Pedro, Calif.; a daughter, Cynthia Martin, Tucson, Ariz.; a brother, Robert Reiter, Mequon, Wis.; and two grandchildren.A son, Douglas, died earlier.The family will greet friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary.The family suggests memorials to the Susan G.
