Henry "Jack" J. Rogers 1921 - 2006 Topeka
Topeka - Services for Henry J. "Jack" Rogers, 84, Topeka, will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel in Topeka. Cremation is planned.Mr. Rogers died Sunday, Feb. 26, 2006, at Aldersgate Village in Topeka.He was born June 13, 1921, in Forest Hill, La., the son of Kirby B. and Jessie Jackson Rogers.Mr. Rogers farmed in Jefferson and Osage County. He worked as a mechanic for more than 30 years for a Buick dealer in Topeka. He also worked at Westar Energy. He was a private pilot and was active with the Kansas Flying Farmers and served as state chapter president.His wife, Opal K. Rogers, died Jan. 31, 1990.Survivors include a son, Michael, Port Neches, Texas; two brothers, Herbert, Perry, and Kirby, Topeka; and three sisters, LaRue Rogers, Topeka, Shirley Williams, Riverside, Calif., and Vivian Boettcher, Topeka.Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at the chapel.The family suggests memorials to the Capper Foundation, 3500 S.W. 10th Ave., Topeka 66604.Online condolences may be sent at <a href="http://www.penwellgabel. com">www.penwellgabel. com</a>.
