Inez B. Skeet

Services for Inez B. Skeet, 87, Lawrence, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Skeet died Thursday, Feb. 23, 2006, at Eudora Nursing Center.She was born April 6, 1918, in Leavenworth, the daughter of Thomas and Cordelia Cox Mason. Mrs. Skeet worked as a bookkeeper for Medical Arts Pharmacy for 19 years and King Pharmacy for five years before she retired. She also worked at Winter’s Chevrolet in Lawrence and was a mail carrier for Sunflower Army Ammunition Plant.She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Rebekahs, F.O.E. Auxiliary, Autumn Club and AARP. She was also part of the League Bowling Assn.She married Alfred Skeet on Dec. 25, 1936, in Tonganoxie. He survives, of the home.Other survivors include a son, Alan Skeet, Lewisville, Texas; two daughters, Dolores Winsor, Shawnee, and Rita Neis, Eudora; a brother, Dean Mason, Eldridge, Mo.; a sister, Maxine Sparks, McLouth; 12 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the mortuary.The family suggests memorials to the Prevention of Child Abuse through the F.O.E., sent in care of the mortuary.Online condolences may be sent to info@warrenmcelwain.com, subject: Skeet.
