Clovis W. Majors 1919 - 2006

A memorial Mass for Clovis W. Majors, 86, Lawrence, will be at 10:30 a.m. today at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Lawrence. Inurnment will be at 12:30 p.m. today in Fort Leavenworth National Cemetery. Mr. Majors died Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2006, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.He was born March 3, 1919, in Purcell, Okla. He lived in Lawrence for four years.Mr. Majors worked as a baker and retired in 1998. He was also a Golden Gloves boxer, beekeeper, ski instructor and school bus driver. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.He married Evelyn Gromer on Oct. 2, 1980, in Harrisonville, Mo., and later in a Catholic ceremony on July 14, 2003, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.
