Warren Landis 1921 - 2006 Lawrence

Services for Warren Landis, 84, Lawrence, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Pleasant Grove.Mr. Landis died Thursday, Feb. 9, 2006, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.He was born Sept. 20, 1921, in Douglas County, the son of Virgil and Osa Mae Churchbaugh Landis. He attended Lawrence schools.Mr. Landis was a lifelong farmer. He also worked for the Wakarusa Township Road Department from 1968 until he retired in 1986.He married Deloris Christine Parsons on Feb. 4, 1947, in Lawrence. She survives, of the home.Other survivors include a son, Larry, Lawrence; a daughter, Patti Cooper, Troy, Mich.; a brother, Armin, Lawrence; and three grandchildren.A son, Keith, died in May 2001.The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary.
