Helen T. Marks 1920 - 2006 Valdosta
Valdosta, Ga. - Helen T. Marks, 85, Valdosta, died Thursday, Feb. 9, 2006, in Quitman after a short illness. Burial will be in Green-Wood Cemetery in Brooklyn, N.Y.She was born Oct. 14, 1920, in Brooklyn, the daughter of Harold and Helen Hine Octers. She graduated from Girls Commercial High School and majored in English at Wilson College.Mrs. Marks worked as a secretary in Washington, D.C., during World War II. She was a member of the Church of the Nativity in Burke, Va., and Bellarmine Guild at St. Joseph's University.She married Louis S. Marks in 1944. He died Dec. 20, 1993.Survivors include a son, Dennis Marks, Valdosta; three daughters, Barbara Jane Wrigley, Lawrence, Kan., Patricia Nancy Marks, Springfield, Va., and Helen Marks Dicks, Madison, Wis.; and two grandsons.The family suggests memorials to the Knights of Columbus Scholarship Fund or Wilson College, sent in care of McLane Funeral Services, P.O.
