Patricia Vangemeren 1917 - 2006
Services for Patricia Vangemeren, 88, Lawrence, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Lawrence.Mrs. Vangemeren died Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2006, at Lawrence Presbyterian Manor.She was born Pietertje Rosmolen on March 26, 1917, in Woubrugge, Holland, the daughter of Hendric and Maartje Hendrena Vanderhook Rosmolen. She immigrated to the United States in 1951.Mrs. Vangemeren and her husband owned and operated Tony's Nissan Auto Dealership.She married Anthonie Vangemeren on Nov. 1, 1944, in Woubrugge, Holland. He died Jan. 3, 1994.Survivors include a son, Cornelis "Casey" Vangemeren, Lawrence; a daughter, Mary Ann Heberling, Overbrook; a brother, Bastian Rosmolen, St. Joseph, Mo.; a sister, Cor Smits, Adelaide, Australia; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday at the mortuary before the services.The family suggests memorials to Lawrence Presbyterian Manor Samaritan Fund, sent in care of the mortuary.E-mail condolences may be sent to <a href="mailto:info@warrenmcelwain.com">info@warrenmcelwain.com</a>, subject: Vangemeren.
