Howard Dale McBride Sr. 1925 - 2006
Inurnment for Howard Dale McBride Sr., 81, Lenexa, will be at a later date in Valley Falls Cemetery in Valley Falls.Mr. McBride died Saturday, Feb. 4, 2006, at his home.He was born June 6, 1925, in Rock Creek, the son of Howard H. and Ethel M. Glassel McBride. Mr. McBride worked as a farmer and rancher in Jefferson County before owning and operating a farm implement dealership in Washington County. He later opened Leavenworth Furniture Mart. His last business venture was Dale's Mortgage Co. in Kansas City, Mo.He married Ferne L. Kenyon on July 4, 1946. She survives, of the home.Other survivors include three daughters, Kathleen M. Courkamp, Amarillo, Texas, Linda K. Hulce, Overbrook, and Carol A. McBride, Lavale, Md.; two sons, Howard D. II, Basehor, and Larry D., Arvada, Colo.; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.Two great-grandchildren died earlier.Friends may call from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Davis Funeral Chapel in Leavenworth. The family suggests memorial contributions to the donor's choice of charity, sent in care of the funeral chapel, 531 Shawnee St., Leavenworth 66048.
