Stanley "Stan" W. Braksick 1924 - 2006 McLouth
McLouth - Services for Stanley W. "Stan" Braksick, 81, McLouth, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at McLouth United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in McLouth Cemetery.Mr. Braksick died Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2006, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. He was born Feb. 15, 1924, in Napoleon, Mo., the son of John William and Olinda Niendick Braksick. He graduated from high school in Lexington, Mo., in 1942 and later graduated from AIB Banking School.Mr. Braksick worked in banking for 59 years. He worked at City National Bank of Kansas City, Mo. He purchased the Bank of McLouth in 1961 and served as its chairman of the board. He was a member of the McLouth United Methodist Church and had belonged to McLouth Kiwanis Club for 45 years. He was also a member of the Kansas and American Bankers Assns. He served as treasurer for McLouth school district and was a past board member at Jefferson County Memorial Hospital.He married Fern Helena Laumeier on June 21, 1947, in Napoleon, Mo. She survives, of the home.Other survivors include a son, Robert S., McLouth; a daughter, Kathy Scott, McLouth; a sister, Lora Louise Stark, Napoleon, Mo.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Barnett-Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Oskaloosa.The family suggests memorials to the church memorial fund, sent in care of the funeral home, P.O. Box 416, Oskaloosa 66066.
