Francis "Frank" Leo Fritton 1914 - 2006 Hutchinson
Topeka - Mass of Christian burial for Francis Leo "Frank" Fritton, 91, Hutchinson, will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday following a parish rosary at 11 a.m. Saturday at Christ the King Church in Topeka. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery in Topeka.Mr. Fritton died Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2006, in Hutchinson.He was born June 16, 1914, in the Kansas City area, the son of John and Anna Heise Fritton. He graduated from Hayden High School in Topeka and attended Washburn University. He was a former resident of Topeka.Mr. Fritton served in the U.S. Air Force Signal Corps in the Pacific during Word War II. He worked for 32 years as a supervisor for the U.S. Postal Service, where he served as personnel manager and retired as assistant postmaster. He also worked in real estate.He was a member of Christ the King Church for many years. He was active in the Knights of Columbus, Elks Club, National Association of Retired Federal Employees and Washburn University Alumni Assn. He served as president of the Optimists Club, Camera Club and Investment Club.He married Dorothy Casson on Feb. 3, 1939. She died May 17, 1995.Survivors include a son, Jim B., Lawrence; four daughters, Nancy Habiger, Hutchinson, Mary Murrow, Wichita, Linda Fritton, Humboldt, and Margaret Bideau, Chanute; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home in Topeka.The family suggests memorials to the church or the Good Samaritan Fund at Wesley Towers in Hutchinson, sent in care of the funeral home, 2801 S.W.
