William Milton Santee

Mass of Christian Burial for William Milton “Milt” Santee, 83, Kansas City, Mo., will be at 7 p.m. Friday at St. Francis Xavier Church in Kansas City, Mo. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in St. Patrick Cemetery in Emerald, Kan.Mr. Santee died Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2006, at his home.He was born Aug. 14, 1922, in St. Marys, Kan., the son of Samuel Raymond and Julia Magrath Santee. He attended Kansas State College in Emporia.Mr. Santee served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II. He worked for 16 years at Smith St. John Co. and started W. Milt Santee and Associates in 1963. He specialized in commercial food service facility design and received numerous national awards.He was a member of the Foodservice Consultants Society International, the National and Missouri Restaurant Assns., the Nelson-Atkins Museum Friends of Art and American School Lunch Assn. He served on the advisory board of William Woods College and the executive board of St. Mary College. He was a member of the Rockhurst Honorary Directors Group and Sisters of Social Service. He volunteered with local public television and church-sponsored food banks.Survivors include a son, Kevin, Overland Park; two daughters, Michelle Bird, Lawrence, and Sheila Rupp; and nine grandchildren. A rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Friday at St. Francis Xavier Church in Kansas City, Mo.The family suggests memorials to Sisters of Social Service, 2303 S.
