Maria Urquilla Diaz 1928 - 2006 Lawrence
Services for Maria Neli Urquilla-Diaz, 78, Lawrence, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home. Cremation will follow.Ms. Urquilla-Diaz died Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2006, at Kansas University Hospital in Kansas City, Kan.She was born April 9, 1928, in El Salvador, the daughter of Arturo and Elvira Andino Diaz-Avendano. She immigrated to the United States in 1990 to escape civil war in El Salvador.Ms. Urquilla-Diaz worked in sales and housekeeping.Survivors include three sons, Luis Urquilla-Eller, Jose Urquilla-Diaz and Carlos Urquilla-Diaz; six daughters, Soledad Donelly, Martha Melado, Neli Sosa, Gloria Reyes, Mirna Colocho and Miriam Urquilla-Diaz; a brother; three sisters; and many grandchildren.Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, and Wednesday morning until the service, at the funeral home.
