Robert “Bob” T. Trude

Memorial services for Robert T. “Bob” Trude, 78, Perry, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Perry United Methodist Church. Burial with American Legion Honors will be in Newman Rose Hill Cemetery.Mr. Trude died Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2006, at St. Francis Health Center in Topeka.He was born Aug. 5, 1928, in St. Marys, the son of Samuel Eldridge and Nancy Maria Levett. He graduated from Perry Rural High School in 1946 and lived most of his life in the Perry area.Mr. Trude served in the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1953 during the Korean War. Mr. Trude farmed in the Kaw Bottoms near Perry for many years. He was an active life member and past commander of the Perry American Legion Post 142, a life member of Masonic Lodge 415 in Perry and a member of Perry United Methodist Church. He was a collector of antique John Deere tractors and enjoyed participating in tractor pulls with his 77 Oliver.He married Norma J. Biester on Nov. 20, 1955, in Valley Falls. She survives, of the home.Other survivors include two daughters, Becky Caddell and husband Jerry, Shell Knob, Mo., Angie Gantz and husband Mark, Perry; a brother, John Trude and wife Colleen, Perry; two sisters, Dorothy Ebert, Manhattan, and Joetta Dreher, Overbrook; a brother-in-law, Edwin Biester, Valley Falls; a sister-in-law, Wanetta Bartholomew, Wolfeboro, N.H.; three granddaughters, Emma, Morgan and Ella Gantz; and many nieces, nephews and friends.Mr. Trude was preceded in death by two brothers, Earl and Samuel Trude; and three sisters, Cornelia Fischer, Alberta Dunnaway and Ernestine Stebbins.The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Barnett-Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Oskaloosa with Masonic services at 7:45 p.m. Friday. The casket will remain closed. The family will also receive friends following the memorial service at the Perry American Legion Building in Perry.The family suggests memorials to the Perry American Legion Post 142 Memorial Fund, sent in care of Barnett-Chapel Oaks Funeral Home, P.O.
