IdaMae Coffman 1918 - 2006 Burlingame

Funeral services for IdaMae Coffman, 88, Burlingame, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Grace Assembly Church in Burlingame. Burial will be in Rochester Cemetery in Topeka.Mrs. Coffman died Friday, Dec. 15, 2006, at Brookside Retirement Community in Overbrook.She was born June 29, 1918, in Parsons, the daughter of John A. and Evelyn Frame Ross. She attended school in Parsons. She lived in several states before she moved to Osage City in 1958. She moved to Burlingame in 1996 and to Overbrook in June 2004.Mrs. Coffman worked as a teacher, a waitress, a cook and a piano teacher. She also sold playhouse toys. She worked for the Senior Center in Burlingame until she retired. She was a member of the Cherokee Nation. She was member and past officer of the Robert Heizer American Legion Post 198 in Osage City and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 320 in Emporia, Republican Precinct in Osage City, Meals on Wheels, MI Singers, Chatty Eaters and Eastern Star.She married Fred Coffman on Dec. 25, 1941, in Parsons. He died Dec. 16, 1990. Mrs. Coffman also was preceded in death by two grandsons. Survivors include a son, David Coffman, Osage City; four daughters, Roberta M. Peterson, Miller, EvaSue Wells, Alton, F. Kaye Boyce, Wellsville, and Judy Jellison, Topeka; 16 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Carey Funeral Home in Burlingame, where the family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday.The family suggests memorials to Heart of America Hospice, sent in care of Carey Funeral Home, P.O.
