Graveside services for Alice N. Land, 97, Hillsboro, Ore., were at Lawrence Memorial Cemetery.Mrs. Land died Thursday, Dec. 7, 2006, at Green Park Adult Foster Care Home in Hillsboro.She was born Oct. 22, 1909, in Wabaunsee, the daughter of Will and Anna Kramer Noland. She was raised and received her education in Kansas and graduated from Garrison High School in Garrison 1927. She received a master's degree in education from Kansas University. She moved from Lawrence to Hillsboro in 1975.Mrs. Land was a grade school teacher in the Lawrence area for 40 years and retired in 1975.She was a life member of the Order of Eastern Star, a member of the Daughters of Colonial Wars and Daughters of the American Revolution. She volunteered more than 12,000 hours for the Tuality Hospital Auxiliary Gift Shop. She enjoyed studying genealogy and published a book about her family line through 1766. She also enjoyed collecting antiques.She married Forrest Springer on May 28, 1928, in Manhattan. He died earlier. She married Kenneth Land on Jan. 15, 1948. He died July 19, 1958.She also was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, George Noland; two sisters, Grace Anderson and Iris Clark; a stepson, Gaylord Land; and two nephews, Neil Butler and Robert Anderson.Survivors include a daughter, Joanne Springer Schneider and husband Ellard "Bud", Hillsboro; two grandchildren, Karen J. Goodson and Marvin Schneider; three stepgrandchildren, Scot and Jace Land and Cindy Berkley; six great-grandchildren, Rian, Robin, Eric, Erin, Jared and Daniel; five stepgreat-grandchildren; and her nieces and nephews, Georgene Taylor, Clarice Braden, Lorna Butler, Gary Butler and Kim Noland.The family suggests memorials to Hospice of Washington County, 900 S.E.
