Tonganoxie – Services for Frances Korb, 92, Lawrence, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at United Methodist Church in Tonganoxie. Burial will be in Hubbel Hill Cemetery in Tonganoxie.Mrs. Korb died Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2006, at Brandon Woods Retirement Community in Lawrence.She was born Sept. 4, 1914, in Reno, the daughter of Paris and Fannie Cline Pearson. Mrs. Korb and her husband owned and operated Korb Electric in Tonganoxie for more than 20 years.She was an active member of United Methodist Church, Tonganoxie Historical Society, United Methodist Women and Riford Senior Center.She married Edward Korb on Aug. 1, 1933, in Leavenworth County. He died in 1999.Mrs. Korb also was preceded in death by a daughter, Jane Pearce, in 1972; a son-in-law, Darrell Pearce, in 1997; and a great-granddaughter, Ashlyn Green, in 1994.Survivors include a daughter, Beverly Mallams and husband Pat, North Richland Hills, Texas; a daughter-in-law, Nancy Pearce, Tonganoxie; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and her loyal companion, Tootsie.The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until services Saturday at the church.The family suggests memorials to Tonganoxie Historical Society or Riford Senior Center.
