Billy Ray Jardon

Baldwin City – Services for Billy Ray Jardon, 64, Baldwin City, will be at 1 p.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church in Baldwin City. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Baldwin City.Mr. Jardon died Saturday, Dec. 2, 2006, at his home.He was born Oct. 7, 1942, on the family farm near Baldwin City. He grew up in Prairie City and attended Prairie City Grade School. He graduated from Baldwin High School in 1960. He lived in Illinois, North Dakota and Wyoming before he moved back to Baldwin City in 1984. Mr. Jardon was a pipefitter with Local Union No. 763 of Lawrence. He began work in January 1967 and retired Oct. 31, 2004, with Local Union No. 441 of Wichita. He was a member of the Experimental Aviation Association.He enjoyed helping and spending time with his family and drinking coffee with friends at Munchers Bakery in Lawrence. He also enjoyed building model airplanes, riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle and driving his 1962 Corvette.He married Deneese Irene Schutz on Nov. 7, 1970, in Baldwin City. She survives, of the home.Other survivors include two daughters, Debbie Cotton and husband Paul, Flower Mound, Texas, and LaNeece Evilsizor and husband Mark, Baldwin City; a son, Doyle Jardon and wife Rebecca, Baldwin City; two sisters, Peggy Ford and husband Floyd, Baldwin City, and Betty Langrell and husband Ed, Eudora; a brother, Bud Jardon and wife Shirley, Baldwin City; 11 grandchildren, Jack and Sam Cotton, Crystal, Michael, Matthew, Michelle, Carol and DeAnna Evilsizor, and Emily, Megan and Anna Jardon; two great-grandchildren, Jessy Osborne and Gage Wells-Evilsizor; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.Mr. Jardon was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, David Ford.The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home in Baldwin City.
