Helen Clarice Wildgrube

Independence, Kan. – Services for Helen Clarice Wildgrube, 86, Independence, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Zion Lutheran Church in Independence. Private burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery.Mrs. Wildgrube died Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2006, at Eagle Estates in Independence.She was born Nov. 30, 1919, near Osage City, the daughter of Herman and Mary Barrett Hunn. She attended schools in Olivet and Quenemo. She graduated in 1949 from University High School in Lawrence and later attended Coffeyville Community College. She lived in Lawrence, Detroit, Coffeyville and Independence.Mrs. Wildgrube worked at Ditzler Paint and several defense plants. She also worked at Exxon Dodge, Carter Automotive and Coffeyville Packing.She was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church and the Business and Professional Women’s Club of America, Coffeyville Chapter.She married George Brooks in 1937. They later divorced. She married Adolph Wildgrube on Feb. 12, 1955. He survives, of the home.Other survivors include two sons, Richard Brooks, Lawrence, and Michael Brooks, Omaha, Neb.; six grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.Friends may call from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at Potts Chapel of Independence, where the family will receive them from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today.The family suggests memorials to Zion Lutheran School of Independence, sent in care of Potts Chapel, P.O.
