Services for Robert E. "Bob" Einstein, 86, Lawrence, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home in Lawrence. Burial will follow in Beni Israel Jewish Cemetery in Eudora.Mr. Einstein died Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2006, at Lawrence Presbyterian Manor.He was born Dec. 15, 1919, in Topeka, the son of Nathan and Ethel Feinstein Einstein. He graduated from Topeka High School.Mr. Einstein served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the 156th Liaison Squadron Commandos in Burma and India. He worked for Metropolitan Insurance after the war. He and his wife were founders of the Lawrence Jewish Community Center, and he helped found the Beni Israel Jewish Cemetery. He was a member of the Elks and a supporter of the Boy Scouts of America.He married Melda Blackman on March 23, 1952. She died March 17, 2002.Survivors include a sister-in-law, Rubie Scott and husband Bill; a brother-in-law, Dick Blackman and wife Jackie; and many nieces and nephews.The family suggests memorials to the Lawrence Jewish Community Center or Beni Israel Cemetery, sent in care of the funeral home.Online condolences may be sent at <a href="http://www.rumsey-yost.com">www.rumsey-yost.com</a>.
