M. Lyle Glanville

Services for M. Lyle Glanville, 91, Mission, will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home in Ottawa. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery, Ottawa.Mrs. Glanville died Friday, Aug. 4, 2006, at the Mission Springs Assisted Living Facility in Mission.She was born Sept. 16, 1914, in Toledo, Ohio, the daughter of Agassiz T. and Emma McCoy Hutchins.Mrs. Glanville graduated from Ottawa High School in 1931. She attended Ottawa University and graduated from Emporia State Teachers College in 1935 with a degree in kindergarten-primary education.She taught at Cole Grade School and was actively involved in farming.She married Fred L. Glanville on June 9, 1933, at the Hutchins family farm near Ottawa. He died May 18, 2000.Mrs. Glanville was a member of North Baptist Church and Westminster Presbyterian Church, both in Ottawa. She was a past president and member of Silver Leaf EHU; a member of Baptist Women, Franklin County Extension Board and Hawkins School District school board; and a leader for Silver Leaf 4-H Club.She also was a pianist and violinist.She is survived by a son, Wallace T. Glanville, Overland Park; two daughters, Roberta Ann Brown, Shawnee, and Dorothy L. Congrove, Lawrence; a sister, Margaret Hutchins, Ottawa; a half-sister, Jane Israel, Tuscaloosa, Ala.; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.The family suggests memorials to Mission to the World or the McCoy Scholarship Fund at Ottawa University, sent in care of the funeral home, P.O.
