Sarah “Osh-puk” Pemma Jessepe

Services for Sarah “Osh-puk” Pemma Jessepe, 81, Kickapoo Reservation, will be Saturday evening at her home on the Kickapoo Reservation, 860 Kansas Highway 20. Burial will be Sunday afternoon at Mason Cemetery.Mrs. Jessepe died Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2006, at her home. She was born Nov. 24, 1924, in Wabeno, Wis., the daughter of Mac and Wassigjiwan Pemma. Mrs. Jessepe was a homemaker and a teacher of the traditional arts of making moccasins and tanning hides. She was full-blooded Forest County Potawatomie.She married Frances Robert Mijessepe in 1956 in Wabeno, Wis. He died June 3, 1989.Survivors include three daughters, Marilyn Jessepe, Lawrence, and Nora Parker and Aletha Hale, both of Horton; four sons, Wayne Jessepe and Kenneth Jessepe, both of Horton, Edwin Greene, Powhattan, and Pat Mahkuk, Mayetta; adopted father, Orville Mahkuk, Mayetta; adopted brother, Joe Daniels, Crandon, Wis.; 19 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.Friends may call today and Saturday at Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton.
