Julie Ann Peterson

A celebration of life for Julie Ann Peterson, 49, Winchester, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at New Testament Christian Church in Winchester. Inurnment services will be at a later date.Mrs. Peterson died Thursday, Aug. 3, 2006, at Stormont-Vail Regional Health Center in Topeka.She was born Jan. 7, 1957, in Dodge City, the daughter of Allen N. and Barbara K. Reese Downing. She grew up in Copeland and graduated from Copeland High School in 1975. She attended Midwest Christian College in Oklahoma City for two years.Mrs. Peterson was a bus driver for Jefferson County North School District and was an independent Arbonne Consultant for two years. She was a member of the New Testament Christian Church and Jefferson County Home Schooler’s Assn. She volunteered with Winchester 4-H Club and served as a voice coach for many students.She married Marvin “Vic” Peterson on April 2, 1977, in Copeland. He survives, of the home.Other survivors include her parents, Copeland; three daughters, Joy LeAnn Lightfoot, Vandenberg Air Force Base, Calif., Jennie Marie Ramey, Pekin, Ill., and Ariel Lianne Peterson, Winchester; two brothers, Greg Downing, Copeland, Steve Downing, Lakewood, Colo., two sisters, Brenda Stoppel, Oakley, and Karen Wade, Fort Pierce, Fla.; and three grandchildren.The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the church.The family suggests memorials to the church or the Ariel L.
