Ross K. Brink

Graveside services for Ross K. Brink, 82, Perry, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Perry.Mr. Brink died Tuesday, April 11, 2006, at his home.He was born Feb. 20, 1924, in Parkville, Mo., the son of Dillard Forrest and Nora Grace Ketteman Brink. He graduated from Parkville High School in 1941. He moved from Newman to the Perry area in 1958.Mr. Brink served in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1944 to 1946. He retired in 1982 after 30 years as a tire builder at Goodyear in Topeka. He also was a cattleman and stockman for many years.He was a member of Perry American Legion Post No. 142 and Compass Masonic Lodge No. 120 in Parkville for more than 50 years. He attended Perry United Methodist Church.He married Frances Cantrell on Sept. 25, 1945, in Kansas City, Kan. She survives, of the home.Other survivors include two sons, Michael R., Dover, and Wesley D., Meriden; two daughters, Janet Lea King, Perry, and Carol Ann Howard, Lecompton; 14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. A daughter, Susan Jane Higgins, died June 10, 1999.Friends may call after 5 p.m. Thursday at Perry United Methodist Church, where the family will receive them from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Thursday.The family suggests memorials to Jefferson County Hospice or Perry United Methodist Church, sent in care of Barnett-Chapel Oaks Funeral Home, P.O.
