Services for Clarence C.A. Schamber, 88, Phillipsburg, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at SS Philip & James Catholic Church in Phillipsburg. Burial with military honors will be in Fairview Cemetery in Phillipsburg.Mr. Schamber died Tuesday, April 4, 2006.He was born July 1, 1917, in Grinnell.Mr. Schamber was a teacher and school administrator.Survivors include his wife, Lois Schamber, of the home; a son, Dennis, Wichita; four daughters, Saunie Boeve, Rhonda Stahl and Gina Basgall, all of Hays, and Taunya Cole, Lawrence; a stepson, Charles Simons, Warsaw, Ind.; two stepdaughters, Marilyn Davis, Burbank, Calif., and Ronda Evins, Benicia, Calif.; two half-sisters, Laura Bauck, Garden City, and Albertonia Campbell, Montana; a stepsister, Rose Rome, Hays; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.His first wife, Marie, died Aug. 29, 1987, and a daughter, Patricia Schamber, died Aug. 11, 1986.Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today and Friday at Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel in Phillipsburg, where the family will receive them following a vigil service at 7:30 p.m. Friday.The family suggests memorials to Developmental Services of Northwest Kansas, Hays Medical Center Foundation, Fort Hays State University Endowment Assn., or Golden Years Center, sent in care of the funeral home, 1115 Second St., Phillipsburg 67661.
