Myrtle Ann Selders

Services for Myrtle Ann Selders, 76, Lawrence, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at First Presbyterian Church. Private graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Friday in Mount Moriah Cemetery in Kansas City, Mo.Miss Selders died Sunday, April 2, 2006, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.She was born Dec. 19, 1929, in Kansas City, Mo., the daughter of Thomas and Michaline Zitz Selders. She graduated from Paseo High School. She attended Kansas City Missouri Junior College and William Jewell College in Liberty, Mo. She moved to Lawrence in 1987.Miss Selders worked for VFW magazine at the National Headquarters of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. She worked for Benton & Bowles Inc. in New York for 28 years and retired in 1987. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and the League of Women Voters in Lawrence. She was a supporter of Lawrence Community Theatre, the Lied Center at Kansas University, Madison Avenue Presbyterian Church in New York, where she was a member for 45 years, and Westport Presbyterian Church in Kansas City, Mo.Survivors include a brother, Daniel Selders, Sun City, Fla.; and two sisters, Mary Belle Gould, Prairie Village, and Lola Hedrick, Junction City.The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday before the services at the church, where a reception will follow in the fellowship hall.
