Beatrice Eleanor “Bea” Van Deusen Gottstein

Services for Beatrice Eleanor “Bea” Van Deusen Gottstein, 87, Baldwin, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at D.W. Newcomer’s Sons Floral Hills Chapel, Kansas City, Mo. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.Mrs. Gottstein died Sunday, Sept. 25, 2005, at Baldwin Care Center.She was born March 26, 1918, in Kansas City, Mo., the daughter of Ernest and Helen DeField Peery. She graduated from East High School in 1935. She attended comptometer school in Topeka. She had lived in Germany, Japan and in the Pensacola, Fla., and Washington, D.C., areas and later returned to Kansas.Mrs. Gottstein worked for Esso/Standard Oil Co. and other companies in accounting and bookkeeping areas.She was a member of Eastern Star.She married Millard Van Deusen on April 23, 1946. He died in 1976. She married Clifford Gottstein on Aug. 3, 1979. He died in 2002.A son, Christian Van Deusen, also died earlier.Survivors include two stepsons, John Gottstein, Baldwin, and Raymond Gottstein, McPherson; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the service hour Friday at the chapel.The family suggests memorials to the Baldwin Care Center, 1223 Orchard Lane, Baldwin 66006; Heart of America Hospice, 3715 Southwest 29th St., Suite 20, Topeka 66614; or the Gardner Church of Christ, 158 West Park, Gardner 66030.
