Leo D. Harrell

Graveside services with military honors for Leo D. Harrell, 68, Hermiston, Ore., will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Tahoma National Cemetery in Covington, Wash.Mr. Harrell died Saturday, Sept. 17, 2005, in Kennewick, Wash., after a long battle with cancer.He was born March 2, 1937, in Lawrence, Kan., the son of Russell M. Harrell and Ada Goff.Mr. Harrell served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean and Vietnam wars. He earned a Bronze Star and many other medals. He retired as a master sergeant after 20 years of service. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service in Everett, Wash., and retired as an area maintenance manager in Billings, Mont., in 1999.He married Cynthia Haberman. She survives, of the home.Other survivors include a son, Duane, Viola, Del.; four daughters, Suzie Harrell, Viola, Del., Gina Vervynck and Angie Freeman, both of Lawrence, and Vicki Orr, Edmonds, Wash.; two brothers, Alvin and Leslie “Skip” Harrell, both of Clinton, Kan., and a sister, Irene Steele, Clinton; and many grandchildren.The family suggests memorials to the Swedish Medical Center Foundation, 747 Broadway, Seattle, WA 98122.
