Nancy Patricia Sanders

A celebration of life for Nancy Patricia Sanders, 60, rural Douglas County, will be announced at a later date.Ms. Sanders died Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2005, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.She was born April 24, 1945, in Lawrence, the daughter of Raymond Wesley “Tag” and Dorothy Jewell Sanders. She attended Lawrence schools and graduated from Kansas University. She received a master’s degree in librarianship from Denver University and earned a Ph.D. at Indiana University.Ms. Sanders was a librarian at Florida Atlantic University and Arizona State University. She was a chief fiscal officer for the Indiana University Libraries in the mid-1970s. She was a research scientist at the Online Computer Library Center in Dublin, Ohio, and was later a library manager at Ohio State University. She also helped with the planning of OhioLINK, a statewide computer network.She managed the Sanders family farm near Lone Star from 1990 until she died. She was active in the Douglas County Advocacy Council on Aging, the University Women’s Club and the Countryside Garden Club. She volunteered at the Spencer Museum of Art, Clinton Lake Museum and Wildcare Inc.Mrs. Sanders married William J. Crowe on June 10, 1978, in Bloomington, Ind., He survives, of the home.Other survivors include her stepmother, Margaret Broeker Sanders, Lawrence; a daughter, Katherine Mary Crowe, Lawrence, and a sister, Kathryn Sanders Wilson, Lawrence.The family suggests memorials to the KU Endowment Association for the R.W. and Dorothy J.
