Claud A. Aubry

Graveside services for Claud A. Aubry, 72, Lawrence, will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Ruhamah Cemetery near Rantoul.Mr. Aubry died Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2005, at his home.He was born Dec. 27, 1932, in Rantoul, the son of Franz A. and Mildred Farr Aubry. He graduated from Ottawa High School in 1950. He moved from Ottawa to Lawrence in 1959.Mr. Aubry was a guard and janitor for USD 497 for 12 years before he retired. He formerly worked as a salesman. He began farming for his father after he graduated and continued until he retired. He was a member of Eagles Aerie 309 in Lawrence, where he was a past worthy president. He presided over the awards presentations for Lawrence Law Enforcement, Firefighters and Paramedics for 25 years. He also helped found the Osage City Eagles Lodge.He married Edith Schulz on Dec. 18, 1953, in Ottawa. She survives, of the home.Other survivors include a son, C. Steven, Longmont, Colo.; a daughter, Vickie Robertson, Lawrence; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. today at Warren-McElwain Mortuary.The family suggests memorials to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, St. Luke’s Neurology Department or the American Cancer Society, sent in care of the mortuary.E-mail condolences may be sent to info@warrenmcelwain.com, subject: Aubry.
