Kathryn L. "Kay" Julian 1926 - 2005 Lawrence
Services for Kathryn L. "Kay" Julian, 76, Lawrence, will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lawrence. Inurnment will be at a later date.Ms. Julian died Sunday, Sept. 11, 2005, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.She was born June 1, 1926, in Courtland, the daughter of Laben and Ellen Olson Johnson. She moved from Valley Falls to Lawrence in 1955.Ms. Julian served as deputy register of deeds in Douglas County and formerly owned Kirsten's in Lawrence. She gave swimming lessons in the 1960s and '70s.She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church; Beta Sigma Phi sorority; Lawrence Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, where she worked in the Gift Shop; American Legion Auxiliary; Elks Auxiliary and the I Can Group.She married Don Julian on June 6, 1949, in Mankato. He died in November of 1969.Survivors include three sons, Richard "Rick" Julian, Moose, Wyo., Steven M. Julian, Lawrence, and Jon M. Julian, McPherson; a brother, Robert A. Johnson, Pittsburg; and eight grandchildren.The family will receive friends following the services at the church.The family suggests memorials to the Lawrence Memorial Hospital Auxiliary or the church, sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence.E-mail condolences may be sent to <a href="mailto:info@warrenmcelwain.com">info@warrenmcelwain.com</a>, subject: Julian.
