Myrtle Alice Arter 1908 - 2005 Baldwin
Services for Myrtle Alice Arter, 97, Baldwin, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home in Baldwin. Private family entombment will be Monday at Melrose Abbey Cemetery in Anaheim, Calif.Mrs. Arter died Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2005, at Baldwin Health and Rehabilitation Center.She was born Sept. 4, 1908, in Alcester, S.D., the daughter of Arthur Chester and Mabel Costar Thompson. She graduated from Alcester High School. She lived in Michigan, southern California and later moved to Baldwin in June 2004.Mrs. Arter was a homemaker. She attended the Presbyterian Church in Michigan and California. She married Charles O. Arter on April 9, 1932, in Olivet, S.D. He died Jan. 27, 1992.Survivors include a son, Gary Arter, Baldwin; two daughters, Connie Skrbina, Dearborn Heights, Mich., and Linda Baccus, Baldwin; a brother, Ralph Thompson, Mesa, Ariz.; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.The family suggests memorials to Habitat for Humanity Operation Home Delivery for Hurricane Katrina Victims, sent in care of the funeral home, P.O. Box 64, Baldwin 66006.
