Evelyn L. Wingert 1943 - 2005
Services for Evelyn L. Wingert, 62, Tonganoxie, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home in Lawrence. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Douglas County.Mrs. Wingert died Sunday, Sept. 4, 2005, at Tonganoxie Nursing Home.She was born Jan. 14, 1943, in Abilene, the son of Leroy and Georgiana Kanak Michael.Mrs. Wingert was a homemaker.She married Jimmy Lee Wingert on Dec. 12, 1964, in Lawrence. He died Aug. 24, 2001.Survivors include two sons, Kenneth L. Wingert and Christopher Wingert, both of Lawrence; a sister, Sherry Michael Graves, Lawrence; and three grandchildren.Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home, where the family will receive them from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. today.The family suggests memorials to the Wingert Grandchildren Educational Fund, sent in care of the funeral home.Online condolences may be sent at <a href="http://www.rumsey-yost.com">www.rumsey-yost.com</a>.
