Rev. Robert Pool 1925 - 2005 Hope
Mass of Christian Burial for the Rev. Robert Pool, 79, a priest in the Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Osage City. Burial will be at 3:30 p.m. Thursday in the St. Phillip Catholic Cemetery in Hope.The Rev. Pool died Sunday, Sept. 4, 2005, at Hospice House in Topeka.He was born Oct. 13, 1925, the son of Zen Zachariah Sr. and Frances G. Helm Pool.He was ordained a priest March 26, 1955. He had served at Annunciation Catholic Church in Baldwin, as well as churches in Marysville, Kansas City, Kan., Wathena, Lillis, Coal Creek, Greeley, Edgerton, Corning, Mound City, Baileyville, LaCygne and Osawatomie, where he also served as chaplain at the Osawatomie State Hospital. He retired on July 13, 1996, but continued until recently to serve as a substitute priest.Survivors include a sister, Ramona Goracke, Hope; a brother, Max, Benbrook, Texas; nine nieces and nephews; and six great-nieces and nephews.Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the church, where a wake service will begin at 7 p.m. Wednesday.Porter Funeral Homes and Crematory in Lenexa is in charge of arrangements.
