Darlene May “Mimi” Crisp

Graveside services for Darlene May “Mimi” Crisp, 76, Lawrence, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Memorial Park Cemetery.Mrs. Crisp died Sunday, Sept. 4, 2005, at Brandon Woods Retirement Community.She was born Dec. 6, 1928, in Sibleyville, the daughter of Lucius and Stella Dodson Davis. She attended Lawrence public schools and was a lifelong resident of Lawrence.Mrs. Crisp was a cake decorator and had worked at Drake’s Bakery and Rusty’s Bakery for many years.She was a member of Woodlawn Elementary, Extension Homemakers Unit, and a volunteer for Douglas County 4-H. She also was a member of First United Methodist Church.She married Harry Crisp on Dec. 31, 1947, in Lawrence. He survives, of the home.Other survivors include a daughter, Ellen Garber, Lawrence; three sons, Richard Crisp and Kevin Crisp, Lawrence, and David Crisp, Topeka; a brother, Howard “Bud” Davis, Medicine Lodge; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.The family will meet friends from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. today at Warren-McElwain Mortuary.The family suggests memorials to the Jayhawk Chapter of the Audubon Society or to Heart of America Hospice, sent in care of the mortuary.Online condolences may be sent at info@warrenmcelwain.com, subject: Crisp.
