Dan L. Robinson 1944 - 2005
Services for Dan L. Robinson, 61, Lawrence, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Tonganoxie Christian Church. Burial will be in Hubbel Hill Cemetery in Tonganoxie.Mr. Robinson died Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2005, at Johnson County Nursing Home in Olathe.He was born Aug. 14, 1944, in Leavenworth, the son of Harry L. and Helen Elizabeth Martin Robinson. He graduated from Easton High School and attended Manhattan Christian College. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in education from Emporia State Teacher's College and a Masters of Education from Fort Hays State University in 1972. He moved from Russell to Lawrence in 1982.Mr. Robinson was a librarian in public schools and was most recently a librarian at Kansas City, Kan.-area Technical School since 1995. He was a librarian at West Junior High School in Lawrence from 1982 to 1995. He was also a librarian at Ruppenthal Middle School and the Russell Public Library, both in Russell, from 1967 to 1982. He was a member of Tonganoxie Christian Church and the American Library Assn.He married Ava Lynell Hasselman on July 25, 1965, in Dodge City. She died Sept. 21.Other survivors include his mother, Winchester; a son, Dane, Lawrence; a daughter, Amber Smith, Tonganoxie; a brother, Harold, Nortonville; and four grandchildren.Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Friday at Lawrence Funeral Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday.The family suggests memorials to the church, sent in care of the chapel.E-mail condolences may be sent to <a href="mailto:lfc@sbcglobal.net">lfc@sbcglobal.net</a>.
