Funeral services for Aldra Marie "Hedy" Blurton, 65, Kansas City, Kan., will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.Ms. Blurton died Friday, Oct. 28, 2005, at her home. She was born April 16, 1940, in Chetopa, the daughter of Edward W. and Darlene Dailey Blurton. She attended school in Chetopa. Ms. Blurton moved to Olathe in 1975 from Lawrence, and then to Kansas City, Kan., in 2004. She served on the Human Relations Commission in Lawrence from 1972 to 1973. She later worked for the Olathe Housing Department and at Fairview Daycare in Olathe.Survivors include a son, Anthony, Milwaukee, Wis.; two daughters, Glenna, Kansas City, Kan., and LaDean Edwards, Olathe; a sister, Dolly Reed, Lawrence; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until service time Friday at the mortuary.The family suggests memorial contributions to the Aldra "Hedy" Blurton Memorial Fund, sent in care of the mortuary.Online condolences may be sent to <a href="mailto:info@warrenmcelwain.com">info@warrenmcelwain.com</a>, subject: Blurton.
