Charles Henry Climer

Graveside services for Charles Henry Climer, 75, Baldwin, will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Oakwood Cemetery in Baldwin.Mr. Climer died Sunday, Oct. 23, 2005, at his home.He was born Oct. 14, 1930, in Bakersfield, Mo., the son of Alfred Thomas and Agnes Clair Kirkland Climer. He grew up in rural Bakersfield and was educated at home. He moved to Wewoka, Okla., in 1949 and moved to the Lawrence area in 1952.Mr. Climer picked cotton and tended hogs on his father’s farm. He later worked in construction for Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma and in the Lawrence area. He continued to work construction for 30 years.He married Alice Marie Hill on Oct. 22, 1955, in Kansas City, Kan. She survives, of the home.Survivors include four sons, Marvin H., Jason and Steven J., all of Baldwin, and Keith C., Lawrence; a brother, Edward, McLouth; two sisters, Dorothy Davis, McLouth, and Anna Liberty, San Bernardino, Calif.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home in Baldwin.The family suggests memorials to Hospice Care in Douglas County, sent in care of the funeral home, P.O.
