Barbara Jean Wood 1932 - 2005 Lenexa
Graveside services for Barbara Jean Wood, 73, Lenexa, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Shawnee Memorial Gardens in Lenexa.Mrs. Wood died Sunday, Oct. 23, 2005, at Plaza Manor Nursing Home in Kansas City, Mo.She was born Aug. 17, 1932, in Dewitt, Mo., the daughter of Guy and Cuma Wake. She was a longtime resident of the De Soto area.Mrs. Wood worked for Gulf Oil and Midway Coal Co. for 32 years. She was a member of De Soto Eastern Star, where she was auxiliary president. She was a life member of De Soto Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6654.She married Herb Wood on Nov. 8, 1953, in Kansas City, Mo. He survives, of the home.Other survivors include a brother, Ray Wake, Independence, Mo.The family suggests memorials to De Soto Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6654, P.O. Box 54, De Soto 66018.Cedar Crest Memorial Chapel in De Soto is in charge of arrangements.
