Alice Ann Seegers Welge Valparaiso, Ind.
A memorial service for Alice Ann Seegers Welge, 84, Valparaiso, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Church of the Four Seasons United Methodist in Crown Point. Cremation will take place before the service.Mrs. Welge died Saturday, Oct. 22, 2005.She earned bachelor's and master's degrees in secondary education from Indiana University. She was a drama club director and taught English at Hebron High School in Indiana.She was a member of the Church of the Four Seasons United Methodist, the United Methodist Women Book Club and Morning Star Circle. She also had been a Lake County Republican precinct committeewoman, a 4-H leader and member of the Indian Trail Grange and Northwest Indiana Book Club.She married Leslie H. Seegers. He died earlier. She then married Sigmund Welge. He survives.Other survivors include two daughters, Kathy Hooks, Miller, and Gayle Sherman, Lawrence, Kan.; a stepson, Kevin Welge, Clifton, Ill.; a stepdaughter, Pamela Welge, Pepperell, Mass.; four sisters, Dorothy Robinson, Hobart, Florence Patterson, Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Patricia Clinton, Shelby, and D'Maris Miller, Crown Point; a granddaughter; a stepgrandson; and a great-granddaughter.The family suggests memorials to the Church of the Four Seasons United Methodist or VNA Hospice Center of Valparaiso, sent in care of Burns Funeral Home and Crematory, 701 E. Seventh St., Hobart, IN 46342.
