Wayne John Downs 1947 - 2005 Lawrence
Private family services for Wayne John Downs, 57, Lawrence, will be Sunday in Grain Valley, Mo.Mr. Downs died Thursday, Oct. 20, 2005, at University of Kansas Hospital. He had cancer.He was born Dec. 16, 1947, in Borger, Texas, the son of Everett and Ione Downs. He graduated from Smith Cotton High School in Sedalia, Mo., and Linn Technical College in Linn, Mo.Mr. Downs worked as a pipeline technician for 32 years.Survivors include his wife, Vicki, of the home; a son, Darek; and a daughter, Tina Downs.The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society, 6700 Antioch Road, Overland Park 66204, or the Humane Society, 5445 Parallel Parkway, Kansas City, KS 66104.Online condolences may be sent at <a href="http://www.cremationkansascity.com">www.cremationkansascity.com</a>.
