Gayle Arlene White Holden 1918 - 2005 San Clemente, Calif.
Services for Gayle Arlene White Holden, San Clemente, Calif., will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home in Ottawa. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery in Ottawa.Mrs. Holden died Friday, Oct. 14, 2005, in San Clemente, Calif.She was born Jan. 10, 1918, in Cherryvale, the daughter of Chester A. and Ruth A. Page White. She graduated from Cherryvale High School in 1935. She lived in Ottawa from 1938 until 2002, when she moved to Dana Point, Calif.Mrs. Holden worked for the Cherryvale Republican until 1938. She worked as a clerk and secretary for the Ottawa Library for 18 years before she retired. She was a member of First Christian Church in Ottawa, Wifani Sunday School Class, Christian Women's Fellowship, Friends of the Library, Women's Educational Society of Ottawa University and Beta Gamma Club. She was a past member of the Lion's Club and Mother's Club. She was also a Cub Scout Den Mother.She married Charles Franklin Holden on Sept. 4, 1938, in Cherryvale. He died June 8, 1979.Survivors include two sons, Keith F. Holden, Dana Point, Calif., and Mark A. Holden, Berryton; a brother, Max White, Harrisonburg, Va.; and three grandchildren.The family suggests memorials to the church, sent in care of the funeral home, P.O. Box 14, Ottawa 66067.
