Edith Elizabeth Hinkle Harmon Dennis 1916 - 2005 Kansas City, Mo.
Services for Edith Elizabeth Hinkle Harmon Dennis, 89, Kansas City, Mo., will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Bromwell Lounge at Foxwood Springs Living Center in Raymore. Burial will be in Wetmore Cemetery in Wetmore, Kan.Mrs. Dennis died Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2005, at Timberlake Care Center in Kansas City, Mo.She was born Feb. 14, 1916, in Powhattan Township in Brown County, Kan., the daughter of Walter T. and Lillian Thomas Hinkle. She graduated from Fairview Kansas High School and Jane C. Stormont Hospital and Training School for Nurses in 1942.Mrs. Dennis worked as a registered nurse at Wichita, Kan., Veterans Hospital and at the hospital in Horton, Kan., where she served as head nurse. She continued to work as a private duty nurse and a nursing home supervisor in Lawrence, Kan.She married Dale Harmon. He died earlier. She married W.R. "Brick" Dennis on Dec. 16, 1956, in Oskaloosa, Kan. He died in 1998.Survivors include a son, Marcus Harmon; two stepsons, Bill and Tim; and four stepdaughters, Dee Ann, Julie, Kathy and Susie.The family suggests memorials to the Residents Council at Foxwood Springs Living Center, sent in care of Cullen Funeral Home, 612 W. Foxwood Drive, Raymore, MO 64083.
