Elden M. Bailey 1939 - 2005 Lawrence
Services for Elden M. Bailey, 66, Lawrence, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home in Lawrence. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Lawrence.Mr. Bailey died Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2005, at University of Kansas Hospital in Kansas City, Kan.He was born June 12, 1939, in Douglas County, the son of Everett and Frances Wilson Bailey. He was a lifelong resident of the Lawrence area.Mr. Bailey retired from the Kansas Turnpike Authority in 1988. He was founder of Bailey Magnet Lures and was active in the Lawrence Farmers Market.He married Janet Sims on March 30, 1991. She survives, of the home.Other survivors include a son, Wade E., Lawrence; three stepsons, Doug Carter, Monument, Colo., and Scott Carter and Buddy James Smith, both of Topeka; a brother, Ernest, Lawrence; and nine grandchildren.Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home, where the family will receive them from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. today.The family suggests memorials to Prairie Park Nature Center, sent in care of the funeral home.Online condolences may be sent at <a href="http://www.rumsey-yost.com">www.rumsey-yost.com</a>.
