Elizabeth Raymond Raymond 1918 - 2005
No services for Elizabeth "Betty" Raymond Raymond, 87, Lawrence, will be conducted.Mrs. Raymond died Friday, Oct. 14, 2005, at Presbyterian Manor. She was born March 23, 1918, in Lawrence, the daughter of Frederic N. and Ida Gleason Raymond. She attended Lawrence schools and graduated from Liberty Memorial High School. She earned master's degrees from Kansas University and Radcliffe College in Massachusetts.She married Robert S. Raymond on Dec. 29, 1943.In various places where she and her husband lived, Mrs. Raymond worked in libraries and also did some teaching.During more than 20 years in Athens, Ohio, Mrs. Raymond was a member of the American Association of University Women, the Ohio University Women's Club, Pallas Club and Social Literary Club.In 1980, she and her husband returned to Lawrence. She was a volunteer at Watkins Community Museum of History and the Kansas University Art Library. Survivors include cousins in the New York area and nephews in the Kansas City area. The family suggests memorials to a charity of the donor's choice. Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
