Sarah V. Miller 1919 - 2005 Lawrence
Graveside services for Sarah V. Miller, 86, Lawrence, will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Oak Hill Cemetery.Mrs. Miller died Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2005, at Baldwin Care Center.She was born Jan. 13, 1919, in Brock, Neb., the daughter of Alfred A. and Myrtle A. Ireland Faler.Mrs. Miller was a homemaker and worked as a fountain manager at Rankin Drug in Lawrence. She later worked in retail sales at Gibson's. She was baptized in the Baptist church. She was a member of Eagles Lodge 309 Auxiliary and Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.She married Cecil L. Miller Sr. on May 6, 1936, in Lawrence. He died in 1993.Two daughters, Amerette and Beverly, died earlier, and two grandchildren died earlier.Survivors include a son, Cecil Miller Jr., Topeka; three daughters, Carole Cassity, Brenda Bissey and Cathy Wales, all of Lawrence.; a brother, Richard Faler, Colorado Springs; three sisters, Thelma Pine and Leona Hunsinger, both of Lawrence, and Edna Ray, Rock Springs, Wyo.; 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, where the family will receive them from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.The family suggest memorials to the Heart of America Hospice, American Cancer Society of Free Methodist Church, sent in care of the funeral home.Online condolences may be sent at <a href="http://www.rumsey-yost.com">www.rumsey-yost.com</a>.
